Medb (pronounced “Maeve”) is a Celtic Sovereignty Goddess & Warrior Queen. A Sovereignty Goddess represents the belief that the Sovereign ruler must be accepted by the land, the incarnation of the Goddess, in order to receive blessings and, in fact, permission to rule. Medb was a badass goddess and queen who had many lovers and unapologetically pursued pleasure in all of its multitudes. She was shameless, courageous, wise, and powerful. A famous story about her tells of her leaving in the middle of a great battle because she started menstruating. Nobody understood and all were angry because she was on her period?! But she knew, and she left to go find a place and, while squatting down, she reveled in menstruating and gifting her precious moon blood back to the Earth.
